Learn four different ways to paint on silk during an inspiring Saturday with expert Maureen Walker. Then the following week (after she has steamed and mounted your designs) come back and turn your 16-inch sampler squares of silk into note cards or framable art. All workshop supplies will be provided, including worksheets on silk steaming & making greeting cards. All the students need to bring to class is a brown bag lunch & a smile.
Sessions: April 30, 10 am to 4 pm, and May 7, 9 – 11 am.
Instructor: Maureen Walker, based in Sidney, is an award winning contemporary artist and master silk painter, with paintings in private and corporate collections in North America and the U.K. With art training in England and Europe, she is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the International Guild of Silk Painters.
