CVAC’s youth program has several components – student-directed groups, instructional programs, mentorship and an art show – all intended to encourage and enrich young artists.

Art Camps for children

Watch this space for spring break and summer camps https://cowichanvalleyartscouncil.ca/kids-camp-program/

Youth Art Show

Every spring, CVAC hosts a major show for students offering a chance to display their works in a professional gallery setting.

Mentorship Program

For students 14 years and over wishing to develop their visual, literary, technical or performing arts practices.

How does it work? Mentors are professional artists and artisan members of the Cowichan Valley Arts Council who have experience and insight and are willing to work to inspire individual students.

Receive mentorship support from the Cowichan Valley Arts Council including a free one-year membership to CVAC, a mentorship meeting with an artist, small group activities, and a chance to exhibit work in the annual student art show

By providing opportunities to students (either high school or university level), we create real world opportunities for today’s emerging talent and students can hone their craft alongside experienced and engaged artists.

The program is sponsored by the family of Dale Nigel Goble through sales of the late Cowichan Valley artist’s prints HERE
