New Deadline: Open Until Gallery is Full

Cedar trees are beloved as the aromatic giants of West coast forests, playing an integral role in the cultural and artistic life of First Nations. The Cowichan Valley Arts Council (CVAC) is planning an art show celebrating the cedar. We want to encourage artists working in all mediums to submit their cedar-inspired work. Of course, we are interested in woodwork, carving and weaving, but also painting, photography, sculpture, metalwork and other mediums. CVAC is looking for new work that has not been displayed in a local gallery before. Artisans are asked to include a photo or sketch of the planned submission. Apply below:
