Was fun to see the budding artists and how creative their minds are. Great way to showcase the pieces. Wishing them all continued inspiration!
Nice to see all the young artists showing off their talents !
Wonderful show; really enjoyed the artist statements; such interesting art work.
Hi Students
Thanks for showing us what you have been working on in your art practice. Everyone is working hard, thinking about and making art happen and that's what it is all about!
How encouraging to see so many young people recognising their talent, choosing art to express their love of the world's beauty, warts and all.
You gotta be clowning around, what fine selection !
Wow! What a great clown.
So nice to see the work of youth. There are some great artists on the horizon, hope they get to be widely known.
Amazing pieces! Congratulations to all the students.
What wonderful pieces! Congratulations to all the young artists.
The incredible thing about this art is the diversity of creative expression and the unity of the experience. Each piece tells a story and the narratives bring us all a little closer together in a time when we have to be apart. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of the audience. Thank you to the youth in the Cowichan Valley for sharing your work and insights about the world around you! You’ve made the world a bit brighter in the process.
Congratulations students! Your artists statements show thoughtful reflection and analysis. Thank-you for demonstrating the perseverance and commitment that is required when taking on new things and of course for sharing your art!
Congratulations to CVAC for 50 continuous years of staging the Fine Arts show and for being able to adjust so quickly to an online format. To all the artists who were able to submit their entries digitally-well done! I have looked at the show several times and am impressed (as always) with the quality and diversity of the entries.
Here's to being able to attend the 51st show in person!
Thoroughly enjoyed this online show. The variety in subject, media and style made it a veritable feast for the eyes.
Beautiful artwork!!!! Wish to see all artworks in close up and personal.
Thanks all artists!!! Also thanks CVAC office do the virtual art show when we have to stay home AT THIS UNPRECEDENTED TIME .
Very much missed seeing the show "in the flesh" this year. Was really pleased to see the Council pivot to the virtual version of the show. Though I am sure that the virtual images don't do the pieces justice. It is always an experience to see the work up close and personal. Cheers to all the artists!!! And here is to hoping 2021 will bring back the live show.
There are so many talented artists in the Valley. This was such a great way to still have the show.
I love the online show, so glad Astrid Notte sent me the link. Interesting to ponder each piece without other distractions. However contact with the artists is lovely too. Well done CVAC, very resourceful in these Covid times.
Wonderful exhibit! I particularly admire the fiber art, as I have tried this and I know how difficult it is. The photograph of the bee and flower made me feel happy. Great photo! Thank you for providing this exhibit. Such great talent!
Thank you for this wonderful show of the works of local artists. It is a pleasure to be able to 'attend' this year's show.
