In January, the Cowichan Valley Arts Council is continuing its youth mentorship program to support emerging artists aged 14 to 21 years. The youth mentorship program is sponsored by the family of Dale Nigel Goble, a local artist who died in 2019. Dale Nigel Goble was an artist who believed in mentoring youth to help them achieve their artistic goals. CVAC matches the participants with suitable professional artists who act as mentors.  There will also be small group activities either by ZOOM or in person. To be successful in the program, students will be expected to commit 8 to 10 hours a month to practice and meet with the mentor. Students must be members of CVAC and will be invited to participate in the annual student show in April.
