Introducing New Arts Graduates
What: Introducing
A show launching the careers of new graduate artists
Where: Cowichan Valley Arts Council Gallery
Deadline: Artists register online by Feb.28
Show Dates: July 8 to Aug. 4, 2023
The Cowichan Valley Arts Council is looking for 25 new fine arts graduates to exhibit their artwork in a month-long art show.
“We are calling it Introducing, because it will be the show that launches the careers of a new generation of artists in this region,” said CVAC President Janet Magdanz. “We expect art buyers will want to discover early-career professionals and support them.”
To show their work in the show, artists must be 21 – 30 yrs old and have recently graduated from a fine arts program or participated in a mentorship program. They must be living on southern Vancouver Island or Gulf Islands (Nanaimo to Greater Victoria). Participation in the show is free. Artists can submit original 3-D and 2-D work that has been produced in the last year and that has not been displayed in galleries or shows. The work can be in mediums including sculpture, assemblage, mixed media, painting, drawing, and photography.
To register, go to the Call to Artists section of the website.
