Creating and Curating a Show Using Your Family History with Fran Benton
Artist Fran Benton used her father’s war memorabilia to create a show with drawing, sculpture, printmaking and a film. Dad’s War (which runs Oct 28- Nov 9, 2019, at CVAC) is a very unusual art show about the nature of Remembrance Day. The show is viewer friendly with opportunities to be involved with the materials. She will talk about how to create and exhibit that is personal.
Speaker: Fran Benton has degrees from Camosun College, Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, and the University of Victoria. She works in sculpture, painting, ceramic and video. In the PORTALS Studio, inside the Cowichan Community Centre, 2687 James St. Duncan
