Introduction to Figure Drawing , October 21, 28, and Nov 4

Open to youth 16+

Are you curious about figure drawing or interested in joining figure drawing groups? This introductory course covers essential topics and practice over three engaging sessions. Join us on October 21, October 28, and November 4, from 3:45 PM to 6:00 PM, to explore the following:

  • Getting Started: Learn the basics of capturing poses.
  • Approaches to Drawing: Train your eye and practice drawing short and medium length poses
  • Materials Overview: Learn the differences between types drawing media and experience charcoal and pencil on different surfaces. 
  • Hosting a Figure drawing group: Understand the role of the host in figure drawing sessions.
  • Live Model Etiquette: Proper etiquette when working with live models.
  • Workspace Management: Tips on setting up and tearing down your personal workspace .

This class will give you the confidence to join our popular Figure Drawing Sessions where you will continue the practise of Figure Drawing in a supportive group of fellow artists.

Instructor kimmerT

Instructor Kimmer TkimmerT is a storyteller who uses the fine art of an oil painting to communicate her messages.
As a graduate from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) University, kimmer’s strength as a contemporary artist has been developed by intense study (art history, painting and drawing techniques), skills development, and concept creation. kimmer previously taught drawing class in Jasper and recently for CVAC Figure drawing and Art Dabble.
