The theme for this year’s youth art show is Embrace Imperfection.

The show celebrates the artistic talents of Cowichan Valley youth (aged 13-21), and participation is free. There is limited space; register now!

Rules: Limit of 1 art piece per person. Size Limit 40 x 48 inches or smaller. Two-dimensional works must have wired backing and be ready to hang. View hanging requirements here.

Youth Arts Showcase 2024: Embrace Imperfection

  • Optional: Include a brief artist statement about your piece and how it relates to their year’s theme, “Embracing Imperfection”
  • Accepted file types: jpg, jpeg, png, mp4, Max. file size: 15 MB.
    Optional: Photos should be clear and high-quality and background around your work should either be blank and clean or be cropped out as to show only the artwork. Photos uploaded may be shared online.
  • If your entry is in a video format and is located on a third-party site, include a link of where this video is uploaded.
    Conditions of Entry: Eligible artists must currently reside in the Cowichan Valley Regional District and be between the ages of 13 and 21 years. Submitted works, and all the components that make up those works, must be the original work of the submitting artist(s) and not infringe on copyright laws or rights holders. The artist agrees to allow the Cowichan Valley Arts Council to display images of submitted works online and in marketing and press materials. Artists will be credited in such materials. Two-dimensional art must framed and ready for hanging with proper wiring on the back. Please email manager@cowichanvalleyartscouncil.ca for clarification.
