Each session covers a different modality: poetry, music, visual arts/crafts, a learning game, mandalas & circle dance. Art has been serving human well-beings since time immemorial – & research consistently proves the arts are key to physical, mental, emotional & social health.
These sessions are suitable for those trying these activities for the first time, & others with moderate experience. While there are lots of opportunities for creativity, the sessions are definitely not just for artists! People of all skill levels & interests will enjoy the sessions & bring home learning you can use right away.
The Art & Wellness Workshops series is made possible through a Community Health Grant from Island Health. All sessions take place in the Cowichan Valley Arts Council, in the Cowichan Community Centre.
