Let’s add another dimension to our Fine Arts Show experience with live artist demonstrations!

Various artists who are part of the show have planned live art demo’s and discussions to enrich your visit to the Cowichan Valley Fine Arts Show.

Here is a list of the upcoming activities:

Demonstration: A Tisket a Tasket. How to Twine a Basket (in the Gallery)

Saturday, May 8, 1 :00 to 3:00 pm

Weaver Alison Irwin will demonstrate how to make a small basket from string and yarn using the twining technique.  She’ll have on hand several baskets woven in this manner.

 

Demonstration: Painting with Dominique (in the Gallery)

May 10, 12:00 to 1:45 pm

Dominique Eustace’s vibrant and colourful style will inspire you to take up your own paintbrush.

 

Demonstration: Hand Building with Clay (in the Gallery)

Tuesday May 11, 1:00 to 2:30 pm

Potter Janet Magdanz will use the slap technique to create a small box with a textured lid. Decorating will be done with an underglaze.

 

Zoom Discussion: A Deeper Dive into the Fine Art Show

Thursday May 13 at 3:30 pm

Thursday May 20 at 7 pm

Join Rob MacLean on an online exploration of the art in the Cowichan Valley Fine Arts Show.  Rob will choose works to discuss with the group. This is an interactive Zoom discussion that will sharpen your appreciation for art and offer new ways of viewing it.
