Chinese Calligraphy and Painting is a 2- Day workshop April 4 & 11 , 10:30- 5

Discover the timeless art of Chinese calligraphy in a welcoming environment. Open to all skill levels, these workshops require no prior experience. Aurora Xiao Bai will guide you through the fundamentals of ink, brushes, and Chinese paper, helping you create your own beautiful and unique ink artworks.

What You Will Learn:

Day 1:

Materials & Techniques: Introduction to traditional calligraphy tools and basic strokes.

Creative Projects: Develop your own calligraphic art, from characters to poems.

Day 2:

Chinese Calligraphy & Painting: Learn more about how to master Chinese brushes, ink, colour and paper to create your unique art.

Cultural Insights: Learn about the Chinese writing system, culture and philosophy, which may contribute to your creation and inner harmony.

Creative Projects: Incorporate painting and Calligraphy as you feel inspired

Each day will have a 1/2 hour lunch break. Pack a lunch and we’ll offer tea.

Instructor Aurora Xiao Bai

Artistically born on Vancouver Island, Aurora Xiao Bai enjoys nature and free spirit here. She practices painting in mixed media in which she likes to follow her heart and combine tradition with the new. She also practices Chinese Calligraphy, photography, designing & sculpting.
