My interest in Ceramics/Pottery began in the early eighties. I experimented with different firing processes and raku came to be one of my favourite. Raku takes place outdoors in a portable kiln where one to two pieces are fired at a time. The forms are exposed to extreme temperature changes as they are heated and cooled all within about an hour. The pieces are finished within a reduction atmosphere using a variety of combustible materials creating numerous surprises resulting in unique and distinct surfaces.
