In my abstract work, I invite the influence of nature into my painting through the joy of colour, gesture and mark making. This piece expresses both exuberant flight and growth. I explore a limited colour pallet developed by Anders Zorn in the late 1800s – early 1900s. When I first saw his work, the colour felt at once fresh and historical and I wondered what that palette would look like if used in abstract painting.
