Chris Allan Designs

There are significant moments in everyone’s life that deserve to be captured, and I am passionate about capturing those moments through a combination of photography and mixed media art. I hope to create images where emotions, personalities and sentiments shine through.

I create art out of pictures and drawings of people, my travels, my love of art, wine, and the Cowichan Valley.

I paint with light. I include photography, digital collage, and web design in my portfolio.

By Brush and Pen

Through the lens of a camera, stroke of a brush or pen to paper, I bring to life my journey.
Abstract with twists of emotion best describes my approach to my work.
Living in the Cowichan Valley has given me the opportunity to be in the company of some of the most talented artists.
At the present time, my studio is in my home in downtown Duncan.

“Art is important for it commemorates the seasons of the soul or a special or tragic event in the soul’s journey. Art is not just for oneself, not just a marker of one’s own understanding. It is also a map for those who follow after us.”
~ by Clarissa Pinkola Estes “Women who run with the wolves”

Dave & Pauline Thompson
226 Grants Lake Rd., Lake Cowichan
Phone: 250 749-3298

As a self taught artist Dave has painted in oils, egg tempera and water color. In the past several he has found his greatest talent in wood. His creations in intarsia are as challenging to create as they are beautiful to see.

Dave has also won as Award of Merit at the Duncan Spring Art Show.

Pauline, who is also self taught, paints in water colors as well as doing calligraphy. This year Pysanky is also becoming a new skill.

Her inspiration comes from wanting to put to paper what is in her mind’s eye.
