About

The Cowichan Valley Arts Council (CVAC) is a registered BC non-profit charitable society. CVAC was incorporated under the Societies Act on February 2, 1971.

Our Mission Statement is:  To encourage and foster appreciation of the broad spectrum of arts and culture in the Cowichan Valley Region (CVRD), by serving artists and residents through advocacy, by building connections and partnerships and by enhancing both exposure to and participation in arts and culture.

In short, we are one of the main ‘Go To’ venues of local arts and culture. Drop by often to enjoy the many genres on display in our art space (Portals), located across from the Ticket Centre in the Island Savings Centre, 2687 James Street in Duncan. Our programs reflect the vigorous spirit of creativity and self-expression prevalent throughout the region. We also participate in several community events and collaborate with non-profit service organizations in their art-related projects.
